Vale First Reasponders is a charity registered in England and Wales number 1115596
Established in 2005, we will celebrate 10 years in April 2015
We’ve come a long way from those first few months in mid 2005. We had one kit back then, and after finishing a shift at 10pm we had to take the kit to whoever was on the following day. Now we have 11 stationed with the team around the vale and that gives us flexibility to cover rota gaps at short notice.
Only four of the original team remain and although people have both joined and left us, we are currently at our highest number of qualified responders. We are also the most highly trained we have ever been with many of us qualified to FPOS Intermediate with some EMAS additions. That means we now go to babies at birth plus one day, falls, minor trauma and some RTC’s. We’ve come a really long way in 10 years !
Team fully equipped for our skill level

British Heart Foundation Trainers

BHF Heartstart
We are going to 40 calls a month and more often than not, relatives are unaware of the basic things they can do to help before we or EMAS arrive. VFR are trainers for the British Heart Foundation “Heartstart” courses - we’ll teach you the basics of Emergency Life Support in two or three hours one evening. It’s really easy !
